Costify is an Android app published by Tarko Evolution that works out the cost of a recipe and the price to sell it at. This policy explains what the app does with data.
Your ingredients, prices, recipes, recipe photos, shopping list and settings are stored on your device, in the app’s private storage. Uninstalling the app deletes them from the device. Unless you use cloud sync (below), they stay only on your device.
Recipe photos are chosen by you from your gallery with the Android photo picker. The app keeps a reduced copy on your device and does not get access to the rest of your photos.
You can use Costify without an account. If you choose to sign in with Google, an authentication provider stores your email address and an account identifier so you can sign in, and Google shares your email address with the app.
If you are signed in and your email address is confirmed, the app keeps your recipes, recipe photos, ingredients (with their price history and whether they are on your shopping list) and folders in sync between the phones where you use that account. To do so, they are stored in a cloud database and, for photos, in cloud file storage, both linked to your account and on servers in the European Union. Only your account can read or change them. Photos are uploaded in the same reduced size the app keeps on your phone.
Your settings are not uploaded. Without an account, nothing is uploaded. Signing out stops syncing and leaves your data on the phone.
If you write to us from the support form in the app, we receive the email address you give us, your message, the app version, your phone model and Android version, and the app language, so we can answer you by email. They are stored on servers in the European Union and we delete them once your question is closed, within 12 months at most.
To find and fix errors, the app uses a crash reporting service: when the app crashes, including crashes in its 3D graphics, it sends a crash report with the error, the app version, your phone model, Android version and a random identifier for this installation. To understand how the app is used and how many people subscribe, it uses an analytics service, which receives usage events (for example, the app being opened, the name of each screen shown, the welcome guide being finished, the Costify Pro screen being opened or a plan being chosen), purchase events reported by Google Play, the approximate country, the phone model and Android version, and a random identifier for this installation. Neither of them receives your recipes, prices, photos or email address, and neither uses the advertising identifier or is used for advertising. These services process this data on our behalf.
Apart from what cloud sync stores for your account, what you send us through the support form and the crash reports and usage statistics described above, we do not receive your recipes, prices or photos. We never receive your phone number, precise location, contacts or advertising identifier. The app contains no advertising.
Costify Pro is purchased through Google Play, which handles the payment and tells the app only whether the purchase is active. Subscription management and refunds are handled by Google Play.
The app does not ask for permission to read your photos, files, location or contacts.
Data stored on your device is deleted when you uninstall the app.
You can delete your account in the app, in Settings > Cloud backup > Delete account. This deletes your account, the email address linked to it and everything cloud sync stored for it. The data on your phone stays there. If you no longer have the app, write to tarkoevolution@gmail.com from that address, naming the app (Costify), and we will delete it and confirm within 30 days. Step by step: Costify account deletion.
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
If a future version changes what the app does with data, this page will be updated before that version is published and the date above will change.
